Cybersecurity, why is it so important in this digitalized world?
Cybersecurity, why is it so important in this digitalized world? What is a cyber attack and how limited them through cybersecurity ...

Since the beginning of the fourth industrial revolution, companies have accelerated the digitization of their system day after day. Digital has become a reality in our daily lives, creating a social impact at all levels and collecting enough data from all users: big data thus appeared. This transformation, which is as exceptional as necessary, is not flawless. The digital world is regularly attacked by hackers. Cybersecurity therefore becomes an absolute solution for all digital companies and users.
1- Cyber attacks
Since the advent of the Internet and digitalisation, companies, structures, companies and users have been regularly subjected to cyber attacks. Because of the dematerialization of corporate communication systems and big data, they have become dangerously large. The motivation of the hackers at first was monetary. Today, attacks are carried out by well-organized structures with multiple motivations: espionage, destruction of a personality, blackmail, ransom, destabilization of a brand or company. When a company is attacked, production is stopped instantly, services are paralyzed and turnover collapses. Statistics are increasing every year. In 2017, 700 million companies worldwide suffered cyber attacks. We can also quote the WannaCry who infected more than 300 thousand computers in 150 countries around the world. Deloitte, Netflix and other major companies have also been attacked. In 2018, the cyberattack increased by 32% according to F-Secure. Marriot International has been hacked, thus compromising the stolen data of 500 million customers. In the United States and Canada, 106 million customers' personal data were stolen from the bank Capital One. The city of Baltimore remained paralyzed for several weeks following a virus attack Ransomware. Most recently, the United Nations Organization acknowledged that it had been hacked in July 2019. Data for 4000 people were compromised. According to a World Economic Forum report, cyberattacks worldwide could lead to economic losses of up to €2,000 billion by 2015-2020 if governments are slow to act.
2- Cybersecurity
The social impact of a cyberattack is very worrying. Anticipating therefore becomes a challenge. In order to have secure data, cybersecurity is now the priority of any company in a digital transformation process. Its financial burden is high but it is little when you realize the extent of the damage to a cyberattack. Up to 10% of the company's budget must be spent on this. As much as taking precautions and having secure data as wanting to catch up after an attack. You pay a lot, if any. First, companies must put in place a mechanism to protect their computer system. Training and awareness-raising campaigns are not to be overlooked, as in 4 out of 10 cases the fault comes from within. Human resource does not necessarily have an understanding of risk until thorough training is done. Each employee, customer or single user must be informed as effectively as possible of the devices taken by the company. Cybersecurity today provides a better understanding of IT security through risk management. It also helps to secure all user data through the multiple security measures put in place. European data protection rules also contribute to the protection of users' privacy. Cybersecurity also requires software updates and password updates.
Digital transformation and explosion from day to day big data have had a significant social impact in the history of humanity. This tremendous progress is not without consequences. An e-attack for a company is on average 800,000 euros, huge losses, a breach of the privacy of employees or customers, 8 to 9 weeks to recover, a halt to production and operation. The larger the company, the greater the losses. Might as well take it very seriously! Cybersecurity is therefore becoming a preventive door and a way to get out of the way.
